Margaret Rinkevich
Margaret Rinkevich’s practice is a sophisticated meditation on the shared visual language of ancient and modern abstraction. Based in Colorado, Rinkevich creates large-scale oil paintings that distill the essence of tribal motifs, ceramics, and textiles into powerful, non-representational compositions. Her work acts as a contemporary echo of historical artifacts, using saturated palettes and bold geometries to explore the continuity of human expression across time.
Currently featured in the collection are two monumental works from 2011: Enduring the Weight (top) and Transporting the Stone (bottom). Both acrylic-on-canvas pieces (60” x 48'') exemplify Rinkevich’s ability to command large-scale space, utilizing a sophisticated interplay of texture and tone to bridge the gap between ancestral memory and the avant-garde.
